HEARING VOICES/SEEING VISIONS MAY 2025

  • Orr Street Studios 106 Orr Street Columbia, MO, 65201 United States (map)

Marge Saiser has published eight books of poetry. Her newest book is THE TRACK THE WHALES MAKE, which won the High Plains Book Award. Marge's LOSING THE RING IN THE RIVER won the Willa Award for poetry. She and her husband Don have recently moved to Columbia.

Marilyn Cummins is a Columbia, Mo., artist who has been creating art in her Invincible Summer Studios for close to 18 years. While she works across several media – oil, mixed media, pen & ink, 3-D pieces and photography – she has found her voice in and become known for her use of watercolor, a medium she used to fear. She now teaches watercolor workshops and courses at the Columbia Art League and other venues.

Cummins has exhibited in multiple shows at CAL and at the Montminy Gallery, the ACA Business Club, the former PS Gallery, the Boone County Art Show, in Orr Street Studios shows and currently at Serendipity Salon and Gallery. She has a work in the collection of Boone County Bank and several commissioned paintings on the walls of the Boone Hospital Tower and the Boone Hospital Nifong Medical Plaza.

Creating visual art is one of her many interests, which include her day job of freelance writing and editing; playing upright bass and several other instruments; singing; gardening with native plants outdoors; and caring for probably too many houseplants.

Brought to you in part by the generosity of the Office of Cultural Affairs and Orr Street Studios.
