Artist Statement:

Carol Mira Stoddart is a retired art teacher from Columbia Public Schools.  She studied at the Kansas City Art Institute and graduated with a degree in sculpture.  Since then, Mira has been working in a wide variety of mediums with an emphasis in clay, wood and glass.  She is currently working with fused glass and the creation of meaningful pieces serving as memorials to loved ones in our lives.  Through the use of cremains and photo transfers, Mira can create a personalized one-of-a-kind glass piece to remember your person or pet.  She is also actively using found objects to create wall sculptures and memorial pieces as well as purses made by repurposing old neckties.
